Its Christmas Eve, and the countdown to Christmas have been on at Shangri-La’s Eros Hotel New Delhi. Enter the lobby of the centrally located hotel, and one is greeted with the beautiful Christmas tree, the lights on which were officially lit a week ago to usher in the holiday season. Joining in were In-house guests, media friends and other luminaries from various walks of life.

To make this year’s Christmas even more special, the Christmas tree is made up of dried twigs and laden with red berries and Christmas tree toppers. The team painstakingly worked for two months to create this environmentally friendly Christmas tree keeping in line with the Hotel’s green initiative.

Santa hats for all who stepped into the lobby and fabulous treats such as Chocolate Santa, Plum cake, Candies, Gingerbread Cookies and mulled wine set the party tone already. A treasure hunt with kids, where the treasure was the switch to the Christmas Tree lights, is a great idea. Carol singing is just the right thing to do too, and Parmeet Singh Nayar, the General Manager of Shangri-La’s Eros was not one to be left behind. With the merry tunes of “Jingle Bell Rock’, ‘Joy to the World’ and ‘Santa Claus is Coming to Town’ reverberating through the Lobby, the festive season has cheered everyone up already.

Christmas is the season of giving, especially to those less fortunate. In keeping with this spirit, the Shagri-La’s Eros invited guests to adopt the Hotel’s festive Ambassador “The Baby Bear” for Rs. 300 each and the funds collected would be donated to the hotel’s Embrace Partner, Noida Deaf Society (Shangri-La’s care for People Project). Shangri-La’s – Eros Hotel, New Delhi’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony brought alive the rich tradition, heralding and unveiling the spirit of the festive season in all its grandeur.
