India – Italian participation in FDCI’s AIFW SS-17 to showcase top Made in Italy leather craft

amazon-india-fashion-weekIn a first-ever initiative, Italy has come on board the Amazon India Fashion Week SS’17, to be held from October 12-16, 2016 at the NSIC Grounds, Okhla. As the partner country for 28th edition of Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) fashion week, the Italian Trade Commission in Embassy of Italy in Delhi has associated with ASSOCALZATURIFICI (Italian Footwear Manufacturers’ Association) and AIMPES (Italian Leather goods Manufacturers’ Association), as a part of its two-year campaign to promote the best of Made in Italy in India.

Presenting fashion as the gist of the season under the theme “Fashion Appeals from Shoulders to Heels”, Italian participation in the India Fashion Week focuses on 41 top Italian brands of shoes and leather goods, ready to take a plunge in the Indian market.  For the shoes, Italy will be “on the stage” with Fratelli Borgioli, Deimille, Gianna Meliani, Lella Baldi, Loriblu, Marino Fabiani, Movimenticalzature, Thierry Rabotin, Pakerson luxury shoes hand made since 1923, Rangoni Firenze, Walter Pignataro, and, in the special exhibit “Twelve Shoes. italina-trade-agencyA pair for each hour of the day”, Aldo Bruè, Alma, Baldinini, Fabi, Falc-Voile Blanche, Imac Group, Loriblu, Stonefly, Vittorio Virgili.

For leather goods, Italian collection will be represented by Angivenezia, Anna Cecere, Bags’ Hunter by Marco Giorgetti, Benedetta Bruzziches, Boldrini Selleria dal 1955, Bric’s, Castamusa, Corsoundici, Giancarlo Petriglia, Harleq, Interno 24/Re-Design, Monya Grana, Pasotti since 1956, Popcorn Milano-Christian Villa, Soraya Milano, Tecknomonster, V°73 and LeuLocati in a special display “Icons from the past”.  As we know, the Leather & Footwear industry holds a prominent place in the Indian economy given its large social and economic contribution. Italy, with its extraordinary competitiveness in design & marketing capabilities, is all set to penetrate the Indian fashion accessories market.

alberto-zambelliWith the participation at Amazon India Fashion Week – through the organization of the Italian Trade Commission in collaboration and association with the above mentioned bodies -, Italy will showcase the finest & latest collection of bags and shoes from selected 41 top Italian brands, now looking to enter the Indian market. The collection of accessories will also be accompanied with special outfits of young designers Alberto Zambelli, Bav Tailor, Davide Grillo, Leitmotiv, selected by Camera Nazionaledella ModaItaliana (National Chamber of Italian Fashion). The masterpieces will be displayed at the Italian Pavilion from 12th – 16th October. Moreover, a glamorous & exclusive collection will be showcased at the Italian Fashion show on October 12th. A round-table discussion highlighting new fashion trends and collections will be organized by the Italian Trade Commission itself on October 14th to exchange views amongst eminent Italian brands like Braccialini, Cromia, Voile Blanche along with Trend forecasters Mattori and WGSN and key Indian Fashion experts.  With this event Italian Trade Commission of the Italian Embassy in New Delhi aims at creating awareness about Italian brands and their collections in India and aspires to explore new business avenues for Italian companies willing to enter the local market.
