Rahul Misra selected finalist for International Woolmark Prize 2013-14Designer Rahul Misra has won the India & Middle East selections for the International Woolmark Prize for 2013-2014. The results were announced at The Leela in Delhi on Thursday, 25th July, 2013. He has to now develop a capsule collection in Merino wool for the final international prize of AU$100,000 and the opportunity to be stocked at such global retailers as Harvey Nichols in London, Saks Fifth Avenue in New York etc.

The NID trained designer, who has earned much acclaim, several awards and commercial success, Rahul was chosen from amongst 10 other designers from India, Pakistan and Middle East. Rahul Misra’s winning wool garment displayed progressive graphic hand-embroidery with Merino wool yarn on Merino wool jacket dress. The Woolmark brand is owned by Australian Wool Innovation (AWI), a not-for-profit company owned by over 27,000 wool growers in Australia. The company’s mission is to enhance the profitability, international competitiveness and sustainability of the Australian wool industry, and thus increase demand and market access for Australian wool.
