India – Oberoi Group presents 2nd edition of F&B Conclave ‘The Golden Crust’

For the past three days, from the 6th to 9th January, 2016, the Oberoi, Gurgaon has been the venue for ‘The Golden Crust’, the second edition to the highly successful Food and Beverage Conclave started in 2015. This conclave showcases skills of some of the biggest names in the world of Bakery and Pastry as they indulge in a gastronomical journey during the four day conclave. Pastry Chefs from all Trident and Oberoi Hotels in India, and popular patisserie experts from U.S.A and Germany discuss various topics on Pastry and Baking.

Some of the luminaries at the event are .An alumnus of The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in New York, Chef Rohira is currently the Corporate Pastry Chef for Felchlin Switzerland and has won numerous awards the world over. While Chef Kriti Walia of Cupolicious, Germany, interacted with the group’s Chefs on conceptualizing, designing, and making wedding cakes. Having worked with some of the biggest names in the business and earned a reputation of excellence in cake design, Kriti Walia caters to the likes of Cartier, Tiffany, and Kontrast. Sessions on Laminated and Artisan breads will be held by international baking expert Chef Peter Yuen, owner of the celebrated La Patisserie P in Chicago. The conclave will also witness assemblage of guest speakers who will discuss the nuances of patisserie.

Adding to this, Chef Rohit Gambhir, Executive Chef, The Oberoi, New Delhi said, “The food and beverage conclave is a unique initiative from The Oberoi Group to delve into finer nuances of gastronomy. The presence of Chefs from across the Group is a testimony to the importance The Oberoi Group gives to constantly create unique and interesting food experiences for our guests and food connoisseurs.”

The initiative is spearheaded by Mr. Kapil Chopra, President, The Oberoi Group, and led by Mr. Jay Rathore, Vice President and General Manager, The Oberoi, New Delhi, Mr. David Mathews, General Manager, The Oberoi, Gurgaon, and Mr. Nitesh Gandhi, General Manager, Trident, Gurgaon along with Chef Rohit Gambhir, Chef Ravitej Nath and Chef Parvinder Bali from The Oberoi Group. The first two of the six conclaves focused on traditional Indian cuisine, and Bakery while the other four conclaves will see The Oberoi Group’s chefs and culinary experts from the industry discuss various topics that include Oriental, Italian, Wines and Cocktails.
