India – DLF Emporio and ‘The Treasury of Trousseau’

3 mins read

DLF Emporio in Delhi successfully held a four-day long celebration of the nuptials, ‘The Treasury of Trousseau’. The event saw to-be brides and grooms being styled by acclaimed Indian stylists Niharika Khan, Aki Narulaand Mohan Neelakantan. It bore witness to other big names in the fashion industry including Manish Arora, Surekha Jain, Monisha Jaisingh, Anju Modi, Suneet Varma, Leena Singh and Tarun Tahiliani.

The event aimed at creating the perfect dream wedding. With access to some of the country’s top stylists, the four day extravaganza garnered attention from the uber elite. Mohan Neelakantan brought a traditional touch to the proceedings with a return to traditional attire, unusual colours, floral patterns and hair ornaments as the popular trend this season. Aki Narula, on the other hand, presented two perspectives – a collection of vintage, reworked handloom pieces handed down from previous generations, and another which focused on a contemporary, modern approach, replete with out of the ordinary pastel shades. Niharika Khan went for a more refined look for the bride, experimenting with pastel coloured lucknowi and gota lehengas.

The event was kicked off with the unveiling of the colossal installation, ‘The Mandapam’ – designed by Klove, in association with Swarovski. 16 feet in diameter and 18 feet high, this installation comprised over 44000 Swarovski crystals and Klove’s signature blown glass expressions.

Excited about the creative installation, Gautam Seth & Prateek Jain said, ‘Mandapam installation is a landmark project for us. This work is the largest piece we have ever done and it’s a new arena of sorts that we are exploring. And as always, there is no other space in the country which can complement and give the right ambience to the Mandapam like DLF Emporio – which is like second home to Klove.”
