The past few seasons of confinement and travel bans have made resort hotels extremely popular as the go-to option for more than a brief outing. The Westin Sohna Resort & Spa is majorly in the spotlight because of its proximity to Delhi NCR. It probably saw more traction than Westin in Gurgaon. Which explains the appointment of an experienced and seasoned hospitality professional Tusch Daroga as the General Manager, who brings with him a deep expertise in the industry and great experience in handling the Indian market.
Daroga is a management graduate from the Merit Swiss Asian School, who started in the hospitality sector with The Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development; and began his career with the Oberoi Group in 2004 and spent a decade in five of their properties, both luxury and premium hotels in the business and resort space across the country. He has held strategic posts in the Leela Group at Leela Palace in Udaipur and New Delhi. He was with Marriott International as Hotel Manager of The Ritz-Carlton Bangalore in 2018.
In his new capacity, Tusch’s vision is to create a community at the resort along the lines of the African ‘Ubuntu’ philosophy, in which the relationship between a person and his/her community is interdependent and mutually beneficial. “I cannot be all that I can be, unless you (i.e. our guests, our team, our community) are all that you can be”, he believes.
