India – House of Anita Dongre to give Rs 1.5cr Medical Fund to help battle COVID-19

Designer Anita Dongre has announced a medical aid fund of Rs1.5cr ($200,000) in support of the smaller vendors, self-employed artisans, and partners who do not have medical insurance or coverage to prepare for medical emergencies arising from COVID-19. The designer made the announcement via her social media on Instagram.

The rapid spread of the corona pandemic has brought about unprecedented situations, drastically affecting the daily wagers, artisans, etc. Taking note of this, Anita Dongre Foundation has decided to set up a dedicated fund of Rs1.5cr to support their partners who do not have medical insurance or coverage.The company’s direct employees, already have medical insurance in place that covers them and their family members. However, in case of an additional emergency, this fund will be extended to them too.

A helpline has also been set up to assist employees and partners to answer any queries.

Anita Dongre said, “We are in this together, and we will come out on the other side stronger. We shall overcome.”
