Christian Louboutin celebrated the debut of his Women’s Spring-Summer 2020 collection on 2July 2019, during Paris Haute Couture. A party was hosted at the Manège Battistiin La Caserne des Célestins, which is housed within the headquarters of the French Republican Guard. The Manège Battisti was completely transformed, taking guests on an imaginary journey on the ‘Lou Bhoutan Express” from Paris to Thimphou, Bhutan. Many celebrities were spotted at the event.
In addition to the Spring-Summer 2020 collection, the designer presented a special capsule collection: Lou Bhoutan. Mesmerized by the shades and vastness of the Himalayan sky, as well as the ornamental richness of Bhutanese architecture, Christian Louboutin celebrates the diversity of Bhutanese craftsmanship with thirteen exclusive styles. These designs, which feature hand-sculpted and hand-painted wood platforms, are the result of six years of artistic and creative dialogue with the students of the School of the 13 Royal Arts and Crafts of Thimphou, Bhutan.
