On a pleasant afternoon of 11th March, old friends and associates of renowned chef Nirmal Khanna gathered together with her family on the lawns of The Lodi to celebrate the launch the fifth edition of her book, Cook and Bake The Easy Way. It is a handbook of sorts, giving clear instructions on how to prepare a several course meal, including healthy soups, salads, biscuits, sumptuous cakes, delicious main courses and cocktail snacks.
The book is a collection of 101 most popular recipes. Nirmal Khanna shared her inspiration for the book and the many interesting anecdotes on what kept her going as a cookery book expert, since the first edition published in 1960. For the latest fifth edition, Jenna Marie Wall from London, came on board as Editor. The book is embellished with bright colourful pictures of all the dishes, alongside their recipes. The data has been upgraded to incorporate modern tastes, new dietary practice of using healthy ingredients, a new lifestyle and pattern of consumption and dining.
Nirmal Khanna was delighted to find out that Chefs at The Lodhi Hotel had prepared her own Mocha Layered Dessert and French Pear Crumble from the book as part of the afternoon high tea.
All proceeds of sale of book are being given to Amar Jyoti Charity in Delhi and Wishing Well Charity in Mumbai. The event saw the presence of founders of both the charities. Cook And Bake The Easy Way is available at Amar Jyoti Charity Shop in Delhi.
All visitors got a personal copy signed by the author.
