India – Good turnout at 5th Delhi Literature Festival at Dilli Haat

delhi-literatureThe five year old Delhi Literature Festival has become a significant event in the literary calendar of Delhi. The latest edition was held from 10th – 12th February, 2017 at the buzzing venue of Dilli Haat, located opposite the INA Market, New Delhi. The event was well attended by prominent literary figures, State Ministers, authors, members of the Diplomatic community, publishers et.al. The inaugural session, moderated by Rama Pandey, saw the participation of Hon. Babujl Supriyo, the Minister of State for Heavy Industries & Public Entreprises, Govt. Of India, Ashok Vajpeyi, Eminent Litterateur & Advisor, Delhi Literature Festival, Shrikant Sinha, CEO NASSCOM Foundation & Indian Public Library Movement,William Dalrymple, Somnath Bharti.

salma-ansariOn day 2, the renowned beauty and wellness expert, Dr Blossom Kochhar, discussed her recently publishedbook, “Aromatherapy – A Way Of Life” by Hay House Publishers India, with Chief Editor Exhange4Media Anurag Batra and renowned author & film critic Aruna Vasudev and Ratan Kaul, Vice President ICUNR. The engaging and interactive book reading session was informative and generated ample curiosity about aromatherapy and the book. Dr. Kochhar has written about how the use of essential oils in everyday life in homes and offices, can effectively impact one’s love life, family life, and can be used for children, for the elderly, for skin care, body care, for various ailments and during phases of stress and depression. A copy of the book was presented by Ratan Kaul to the wife of Hon Vice President of India Hamid Ansari ji’s wife Madam Salma Ansari, earlier at her residence.

ltf-tarik-fatehThe curtains came down on the 5th Delhi Literature Festival with a Gala Dinner at ‘The Junction’,UmangTiwari’s new restaurant that has opened at the CSC complex in HauzKhas. Ratan Kaul, who has been associated with the event since its inception, lent her support and guidance to the current edition of the Delhi Literature Festival. She was a strong presence as the consultant and host for the event and the evening. She was assisted by ParullMahaajan. Some of the luminaries at the event were the Pakistani journalist Tarek Fatah, renowned Hindi poet, writer and a media personality Ashok Chakradhar,eminent journalist and theater personality Rama Pandey, Dr Aruna Vasudev, Dina Ismail, Deputy of Head of Mission of Arab League in India, Khwaja Maaz Press Attache Pakistan High Commission
