India – Heritage 365 brings craftsmanship to the fore at JLN Stadium from 25–26 Nov

craftmanAt a press conference at the Italian Cultural Center Delhi held on the 23rd November, a grand initiative was revealed that wouldbring together hoteliers, fashion designers and craftsmen on the same platform with a carefully curated exhibition Heritage 365. The exhibition is scheduled to be held on 25th and 26th Nov 2016 at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium (Gate No 14) from 11 am to 8 pm.

Present at the conference were Aman Nath, Founder Trustee of the Neemrana Music Foundation, Sunil Sethi, President of FDCI, PreetiSinha, Vice President, YES Culture, H.E Lorenzo Angeloni, Ambassador of Italy to India, N Srivastava, Commissioner, Gujrat ​T​ourism, Dipika Roy Choudhury, MP Tourism and Sanjay Pande, ED Rajasthan Tourism (Custom), Laila Tayebji, Founder of Dastkar.

Held under the aegis of the Neemrana Music Foundation, this two day, expertly curated exhibition, will bring neemrana-music-foundationtogether 130 handpicked participants. The thematic focus of Heritage 365 will come alive through revivalist textiles & crafts from nationally awarded craftsmen and weavers, re-imagined by the country’s foremost creative minds. Sharing the platform will be fashion designers of FDCI like – Sanjay Garg, Gaurav Jai Gupta, Aneeth Arora, Sunita Shanker and Swati Kalsi, who use age old techniques with a contemporary twist. A ‘Designer’s Enclosure’ has been set up, for FDCI members to exhibit and sell their garments and accessories.Traditional kundan, polki and silver jewellery will be on display along with contemporary fashion accessories.Also being presented are selected handicrafts, objects d’ art, hand tufted carpets, lacquer products, blue pottery, Miniature & Gond art, all rooted in our traditional artisanal craft forms. Master craftsmen like, Nirmal Salvi famous for Patan Patola sarees, Abdul Jabbar Khatri & Padamshri Tyab Khan for tie & dye, Abdul Rauf Khatri for Ajarakh Block printing and Vankar Shamji Vishram for handloom weaving, will be exhibiting at the show. Craftsmen, particularly of languishing crafts, local artisans, women entrepreneurs, NGO’s, exporters and retailers have been invited to showcase their products.

india-heritage-hotel-associThe initiative is supported by Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh Tourism and in association with the Indian Heritage Hotels Association (IHHA).  Heritage 365 positions this platform as a showcase for various forts, havelis and boutique travel destinations that dot Rajasthan, Gujarat & Madhya Pradesh. As part of the world of heritage tourism, the travel and hospitality sector will showcase truly hidden and unexplored gems that Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat have to offer to expats, domestic and international tourists, in the luxury budget and adventure segment.

Heritage 365 is collaborating with the Embassy of Italy in India. This association hopes to promote the exchange of ideas, revival of the arts & crafts and heritage tourism. It will also take forward our shared interest in the preservation and promotion of culture and heritage.

vraj-bhoomiA fashion show conceptualized by Sunil Sethi, President, FDCI, will showcase the best of Indian textiles and garments, with jewellery by Shri Hari Diagems, exclusive jewellery partner.

The exhibition and sale at Heritage 365 features Anupama Bose, Sanjay Garg, Purvi Doshi, Vaya, Bodhi, Button Masala, O Layla, Pero for clothes, Sameer Wheaton with exceptional furniture, Rasa for clothes & home linen, Anantaya for home décor & Amrapali for exquisite jadau and silver jewellery, amongst others. Award winning master craftsmen like Mohd Bilal Khatri for Bagh printing, Ram Kishore Derawala for Block Printing, Badshah Miyan for Leheriya Tie & Dye, Ghanshyam Nimbark for Miniature paintings, Rahul Salvi for Patan Patola, Abdul Jabbar Khatri and Padamshree Tayaab Khan for Tie & Dye and Leheriyan, Chandrakali Pusham for Gond Tribal Art, GeetaBaria for Bhil Tribal Art, VankarShamji for Bhuj Embroideries, Abdul Rauf Khatri for Ajarakh Printing and Abdul Majid for Block Printing will offer their products to the discerning buyer at the show. The travel and hospitality sector will also present the best that Rajasthan, Gujarat & Madhya Pradesh have to offer for both domestic and international tourists, in the luxury, budget and adventure segments.
