 India – 16th India Art Fair 2025 back in Delhi from 6-9 February

The India Art Fair 2025 is back at the NSIC Exhibition Grounds, New Delhi from 6 — 9 February, showcasing modern and contemporary art from India and South Asia. The 16th edition opened on 6th February, for the BMW VIP Preview, in partnership with BMW India. There are 120 exhibitors, including 26 new ones, and 78 galleries, presented alongside major regional and international art institutions.

This year India Art Fair sees an expanded Design section with 11 studios, and a special showcase featuring seventeen emerging Indian designers, curated by Alaiia Gujral. The participants include Vikram Goyal (New Delhi), Ashiesh Shah (Mumbai), Gunjan Gupta (New Delhi), ROOSHADSHROFF (Mumbai), Studio Renn (Mumbai), DeMuro Das (New Delhi, London, New York), Aspura (Jaipur), Nolwa Studio (Hyderabad), Studio Nyn (Mumbai), Studio Raw Material (Makrana/Jaipur), Tania & Sandeep Khosla (Bengaluru) in collaboration with Mangrove Collective (New Delhi).

New works of Huma Bhabha and Oscar Murillo with David Zwirner, while Anish Kapoor and Ai Weiwei return to the fair with Galleria Continua and Lisson Gallery alongside the recently announced curator of the Kochi Muziris Biennale, performance artist Nikhil Chopra (Galleria Continua). Beyond gallery presentations, the fair sees the installation of new commissions and large-scale outdoor art projects. Right at the entrance is the unmissable repurposed cement mixer by artist Asif Waqif, ‘MAKE-SHIFT’, as an experiment in improvisation, materiality and industrial detritus, supported by Laxcon Steels Limited.

‘Growing Focus’, the fair’s Talks Program, supported by JSW, brings together leading artists, designers, gallerists, global museum directors, patrons and market specialists, with speakers including Naomi Beckwith, Tasneem Zakaria Mehta, Claire Fontaine, Azu Nwagbogu, Manuel Rabaté, Chris Saines, Yina Jiménez Suriel, Tarini Malik, Meneesha Kellay, Ferran Barenblit, Ute Meta Bauer and more

City-wide activations during the fair week include a landmark retrospective spotlighting artist Gulam Mohammed Sheikh at Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, and a solo exhibition by Shilpa Gupta at Bikaner House.
