Delhi, the vibrant capital of India, is renowned for its rich cultural heritage, bustling markets, and, most importantly, its diverse culinary scene. The local denizens, particularly the hip and young, are always on the lookout for new and exciting restaurants. One of the latest additions to Delhi’s dining scene is Addoni’s in tony South Delhi, an experiential restaurant that sets the bar high for culinary excellence.
Located on Aurobindo Marg, in Green Park, Addoni’s offers a great escape. Elegant Italian-inspired interiors, the water fountain at the entrance, cascading greens, warm fireplaces, the restaurant’s indoor and outdoor seating options can accommodate 250+, guests. Tables are cleverly laid out in assorted seating areas, to create cozy nooks, giving a sense of privacy. There are two separate menus for drinks and food to pick from.
The Long Bar, which lives up to its name, has its own menu for drinks and nibbles. There are excellent cocktails for every taste, each more exotic than the next. We tried the Miso Melody – (creamy & buttery, whisky, peanut butter, brown miso, rectified apple, hot foam of Yuzu), and Nut & Smoke – (walnut fat washed whisky brown jasmine syrup, spiced bitter, apple wood smoke). Both excellent. Limoncello Spritz is recommended too.
The Addoni’s Beverage Menu has some amazing signature cocktails, and a huge wine list of red wine, white wine, rosé wine and sparkling wines from France, Italy, Argentina, Spain, Australia, Chile, Germany, USA and India. Of course, the spirits are all there too with top Whiskey brands, single malts, blends, rum, gin, sake, pisco and the entire gamut. Lot of elbow grease.
The Long Bar is an English bar serving Japanese food. It has its own range of Nibbles in a separate menu, an assortment of Bar Bites, cold plates, dim sums, sushi, maki, cheese boards etc
Ever wonder what happens when a restaurant decides to have all the fun? Addoni’s Food menu is like a delicious world tour. With the kitchens helmed by the well-travelled Head Chef Megha Kohli, traditional dishes are reimagined through a global lens. Italian cuisine is a favorite, with a Neapolitan Pizzas, Pastas and Risotto. Japanese Sushi and Maki, the tempura jostle for attention.
And then there is our favorite Indian cuisine, with all the local favorites. Tweaked versions of the street food, like the Agua Chile Pani Puri with guacamole and option to spice it with Tequila; the chicken & burrata chaat papdi etc. Along with the Delhi favorites of Kebabs and Grills, they’re serving up Kolkata Kasundi Bhetki. The Burrata Butter Chicken happens when Italy crashes an Indian dinner party. Truffle Chicken Roulade and an Old Delhi Nihari too. I can vouch for Strawberry & Goat’s Cheese Salad (Arugula, candied hazelnuts, goat’s cheese, strawberries, balsamic vinaigrette) and highly recommend the Kebab Labneh (stuffed shammi kebab, labneh, coriander salsa, pickled onion). The All-Day Brunch menu is available until 7 pm.
There is live music on days. I visited mid-week and it wasn’t one of those days.
Vallet parking is available, which is a big help. The efficient staff and courteous service made my experience very satisfactory.
