London – High Commission of India hosts Indian designers at London Fashion Week

dinesh-k-patnaikHigh Commission of India hosted established and emerging designers from India who have participated in the London Fashion WeekDeputy High Commissioner Mr. Dinesh K. Patnaik welcomed the participants at India House. The event at Innovation X: A Portrait of India was organised by London School of Trends, and INIFD and Fashion Scout.  Portrait of India is an experiential event celebrating India’s growing fashion industry and the 70th year of the country’s independence. This event has new precedents, wherein emerging talent has showcased at an international fashion week.

Deputy High Commissioner Mr. Dinesh K. Patnaik welcomed the young and established designers to India House and exhorted them to utilise India’s anju-sharma-at-showenormous traditional design heritage to make a lasting impact on the global fashion scene. He also spoke of the validity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 5-F formula – ‘Farm to Fibre, Fibre to Fabric, Fabric to Fashion and Fashion to Foreign’. He also said that in the year when we are celebrating India-UK year of culture, India’s participation on this big scale at London Fashion Week assumes special significance. Present at the event were Adrian Mott, Course Director LST London,Martyn Roberts, Fashion Scout London and Anil Khosla, CEO, INIFD were also present at the event.

Significant guests from India present at the do were the head of Shehnaz Herbal Inc, Mrs Shehnaz Hussein and Mrs Neelam Pratap Singh Rudy.
