The Ritz-Carlton Bangalore is hosting a special two-day popup, ‘Whispers of Kashmir’ at Riwaz, its award-winning Indian specialty fine-dining restaurant, on 2nd and 3rd August 2024 to celebrate Kashmiri Cuisine in collaboration with Chor Bizarre from Delhi-NCR.

Since its opening in 1990 in Delhi, Chor Bizarre is well known its authentic Kashmiri cuisine. The restaurant itself was a talking-point for its quirky decor of mismatched furniture, plates, cutlery, lamps – a twist on the theme of a ‘chor bazaar’ (market for stolen goods).
Chef Srinivasulu of Chor Bizaare spoke about the collaboration, saying, “We are delighted to bring Chor Bizarre’s Kashmiri cuisine to Riwaz at The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore. This event is a celebration of the authentic flavors of Kashmir, and we look forward to welcoming guests for this extraordinary dining experience. While we have catered numerous times in Mumbai and Delhi, we are excited to bring our culinary expertise to Bengaluru for the first time ever.”
We had more questions for Chef Srinivasulu –
Will the special pop-up here have the same dishes as in the Chor Bizarre menu in Delhi? Or will you be adding something different?
Chef – We are thrilled to offer a delightful mix of signature favourites from the Chor Bizarre Delhi menu along with some special additions unique to this pop-up at Riwaz. Diners can look forward to savoring Kashmiri classics such as Nadru Akrot Tikki, Murg Dhaniwal Korma, and the beloved Shoofta, which are sure to add an exciting dimension to our offerings.
Making of meatballs for Rishta is a long and laborious process. Assuming it is on the menu, will you be making it from scratch here for the pop-up?
Chef – While Rishta isn’t on the menu, we are excited to serve Gushtaba, another exquisite Kashmiri meatball dish. The preparation of the meatballs is indeed a meticulous process, and we take pride in making them from scratch for this pop-up. Gushtaba, with its rich, aromatic yogurt gravy, promises to be a highlight of our menu.

Will there be any tweaking of flavours for the Bangalorean palate?
Chef – We believe the bold, aromatic flavours of Kashmiri cuisine will resonate beautifully with Bangalore’s discerning palate. Our commitment is to preserve the authenticity of these dishes, so we won’t be making significant adjustments. We trust that the rich flavours and traditional preparations will serve as an amazing experience for the diners at The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore.
