The festive season is uplifting the prevailing mood, and in perfect timing, the Hyderabad based Luxury home- furniture and lifestyle brand INHABIT has opened their new store on Mehrauli Gurgaon Road. Spread over 7000 sqft, Inhabit is headed by Neeta Kumar, who is the founder and creative director. Her sensibilities and aesthetics bring a fresh perspective to home interior solutions, as was on view at the store, with her Bespoke series and the studio collection.

Neeta Kumar pointed out that her production unit and studio is based in Hyderabad, and all products are in keeping with the ‘Make in India’ policy. Kumar said, “Our design philosophy is shaped by our experience of the world’s finest architectural styles. We draw inspiration from the best in diverse architectural design values, be it the glorious confluence of Islamic structure with Hindu ornamentation in the Charminar, the austere grace of the Gothic quatrefoil, or the mesmerizing vectors of Art Deco. And our guarantee is a seamless blend of the principles of ergonomics, functionality and selective use of wood, fabrics, and finishes.”

Her latest line,’Let It Bee’, is inspired by the Bee and the creature is imaginatively represented across every element of the interior setting, engraved, printed, or carved or cast in metal for furniture, wall paper, lights etc. The layout is on view at the Inhabit store. Their equestrian inspired series would be a polo lover’s delight.  Craftsmansihp and thoughtful design elements in wrought iron, wooden carving, use of cane in divider panels, chairs, on wall, antiques, specially developed weaves and prints, Neeta Kumar’s training in art and interiors is suitably on display.

The store definitely deserves a visit, particularly for those who are planning renovation or doing up a new place.
