The Italian car maker Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A, or just Lamoborghini as popularly known, has delivered a winner with the new Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster. An absolute stunner, its hallmark is the two-piece removable roof weighing a meagre 13 pounds, which compares on par with the topless version in terms of performance. Each of the roof’s composite panel has to be removed by hand and stowed in the front luggage compartment.
Lamborghini tasted success with the Aventador coupe launched at the Geneva Motor Show in 2011, of which it has already sold 1,300 cars. The new charismatic Roadster has got the car geeks all excited, who expect it to outperform the coupe version. As per the manufacturers, the Aventador, which is Lmaborghini’s first production automobile with full carbon-fibre monocoque, is 30% lighter and 150% stiffer than the aluminium chassis of its super car Murciélago.
The Aventador coupe sports a new F1-style pushrod suspension system, and a 7-speed automated manual gearbox that gives amazing 50-millisecond shift times of a dual-clutch transmission without the extra. The mid-mounted 6.5 litre 700 bhp V-12 engine is dramatic enough for the chiselled looks of the Aventador. Arriving at 62mph in 3.0 seconds, and a top speed of 217 mph, it is being compared to the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport priced at $1.91 million. The Aventador coupe at $445,300 makes it by far the most desirable car. The drag racers around the world, who have burned the tarmac with both the beauties, are giving Aventador the thumbs-up.
The Avendator LP 700-4 Roadster is available for order now from any of Lamborghini’s more than 120 worldwide dealers.
