India – LFW Summer/Resort 2017 to be launched on luxury cruise ship Costa neo Classica

costa-italy-at-seaIn a first of its kind in India, on Friday, 20th January, 2017, the opening show of Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2017.will unfold aboard the luxury cruise ship Costa neoClassica, with designer Monisha Jaising showcasing her stellar new couture line. The fashion week will subsequently be held from 1st to 5th February, 2017. Costa neoClassica is the first International luxury cruise ship to start sailing from Mumbai to Maldives, and this is event will mark its advent with ample fanfare and glamour.

The veteran designer Monisha Jaising will unveil her luxurious “S/S 17” collection will be about billowing silhouettes, glorious array of patterns, fully embellished party dresses and cocktail saris.

It’s about reinventing classic silhouettes. It’s also the joy of a modern woman, unafraid to spread her wings and conquer big city nights… in Haute Couture, of course.”

Lakmé Fashion Week has been innovative in its selection of iconic locations to host large scale offsite fashion shows. Some of the highlights across the years have been shows at St Xavier’s College, Mehboob Studio and now on a luxury cruise ship!

Speaking on the first ever fashion show to take place on a luxury cruise ship in India, Jaspreet Chandok, Head – Fashion, IMG Reliance Ltd said, “This is going to be a ground-breaking show in the history of Indian Fashion Weeks. lfw-monishaEuropean cruising company Costa Cruises owned Costa neoClassica will be the first luxury cruise ship to homeport in Mumbai and sail directly between Mumbai and the Maldives.
