JW Marriott, part of Marriott International, Inc., has announced the opening of JW Marriott Maldives Resort & Spa on Vagaru island, Shaviyani atoll in the Maldives. The brand-new resort on the remote Vagaru island is located just 55 minutes via seaplane from the capital of Male, Maldives.
The new resort is said to provide all the prerequisites for a luxury traveller, with 60 spacious villas, private pools and wooden sunbathing decks. Duplex Over water Pool Villas and single- story Over water Pool Villas are 
set on stilts, while Beach Pool Villas come with direct access to the beach. The split-level Duplex Beach Pool Villa features separate lounges, bedrooms, and bathrooms to accommodate larger groups. There are five restaurants, three bars, wellness centres, and special provisions to engage kids.
