India – Suneet Varma celebrates three decades with Couture Show ‘The Shining Star’

3 mins read

sumeet vermaThe Delhi based designer Suneet Varma celebrated his three decades as a designer by holding a couture show titled ‘The Shining Star’ at DLF Emporio on 29th April, 2017. Contributing to the ‘Shining’ factor was Swarovski Crystals, which has been collaborating with Suneet for fifteen years and adding the desired bling.

Varma’s couture collection was about gowns with a touch of modern Indian designs and aesthetics, embellished with embroideries in 3D textures, gold tissues, print, luxurious satin, encrusted with Swarovski hotfix Shimmer crystals. This new innovation from Swarovski Crystals blends a futuristic gleam with bold crystal colors in nature-tech hues. To give it a subtle and sexy look, the collection is embellished with Shimmer Swarovski crystals in shades of fuchsia, light siam, peridot, hyacinth, silk and more.

Commenting at the occasion, Varma gets candid, saying, “I believe Fashion is the politest way of speaking about sex- But I like the subtle unspoken word, left to the imagination of the wearer. The glamour and sensuality in this collection comes through the use of sheer and lucid fabrics, the delicate placement of embellishments, the drapes and the unexpected details- and what they reveal or conceal. Evening couture is like a sixth sense of seduction. It has its own vocabulary and language, like an elaborate braid entwined with history, myth and tradition. It may be modern, Whimsical or demure- but always magnificent like a Shining Star.” Vivek Rambhadran, Vice-President, Asia South Region, Swarovski Professional India was also present at the do to extend his support.
