A special evening was organised at the Austrian Embassy, in celebration of the 2nd anniversary of Swarovski’s designer jewellery collective ‘CONFLUENCE’. The event kicked off with the screening of a short video of the remarkable history of Swarovski, from humble beginnings as glass baubles to a fashion essential. Themed around ‘Sparkling Transformations’; the presentation highlighted the journey of a Swarovski Crystal from the Austrian Alps to the hands of leading Indian design luminaries finally culminating into enchanting designer jewels.Unveiled in 2016, CONFLUENCE showcases the innovation of Swarovski Crystals, the essence of Indian craftsmanship and the amalgamation of the finest Swarovski crystals with Indian design aesthetic. The strength of the collective lies in the noteworthy designer portfolio and the use of the finest Swarovski Crystals.
CONFLUENCE debuted with statement designs crafted by the leading fashion and jewellery designers of India including Amrapali, Eina Ahluwalia, Gaurav Gupta, Isharya, JJ Valaya, Manish Arora, Outhouse, Pernia Qureshi, Rohit Bal, Shivan & Narresh and Suneet Varma. Since then, Suhani Pittie and Tarun Tahiliani have also joined the glowing designer portfolio. This year, CONFLUENCE welcomes Deepa Gurnani, Nida Mahmood and Zariin to its select fold of indigenous design doyens.
The showcase highlighted each designer’s unique inspiration. The CONFLUENCE collective covers the categories of traditional special occasion wear, everyday modern classics and men’s accessories.Speaking on the occasion, Vivek Ramabhadran, Vice President, Asia South & Africa Region, Swarovski Professional, said, “CONFLUENCE is a combination of Austrian and Indian creativity, design and passion for quality. CONFLUENCE jewellery is available pan India across leading multi brand retail channels; offline and online. Each jewellery piece can be identified with a holographic Swarovski tag, which authenticates the usage of genuine Swarovski crystals. Each tag has a unique 16-digit code that can be checked on Swarovski.com.
