India – Swissotel Kolkata to give locals a taste of their own cuisine with ‘Amar Bangla’ food festival

The culinary team at Swissôtel Kolkata is all set to host a Bengali Food Festival called “Amar Bangla” at the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant Café Swiss starting from 24th January to 2nd February 2020. The 10-day festival will celebrate the richness of Bengal, with a specially curated  Bengali buffet lunch and dinner with special live counters, a dedicated dessert section and the ambiance to match.

The Chefs will showcase the flavours from across the region of Bengal with iconic vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. The culinary fest will have such favorites as the Mochar Chop, a traditional Bengali snack also known as Banana Blossom cutlet,ChenarMohima, a signature Bengali dish in smooth milky gravy, KochupataChingri which are Prawns cooked with taro leaves and mustard paste. Paturi, Kosha Manghso are other notable authentic dishes that will satiate the taste buds.The popular desserts to look forward to are sweets (Mishti) like Makha Sandesh, Nolen Gur Ice Cream, PatiSapta with the flavors of Nolen Gur– one of the most famous and loved delicacies of Bengalis.
