India – Lakmē Fashion Week X FDCI Announces Schedule for Delhi Edition From 9-13 October

Lakmē Fashion Week (LFW) in partnership with Fashion Design Council Of India (FDCI) is poised to return to Delhi at The Grand Hotel from 9th to 13th October, 2024. The event is presented by the House of Lakmē, the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), and Reliance Brands (RBL). All showcases will be live-streamed across Lakmē, Lakmē Fashion Week, and FDCI social media channels to ensure widespread access to Indian and global fashion audiences.

The opening show on the 9th of October 2024 in New Delhi will be presented by péro. Founded by Designer Aneeth Arora, this year also marks a special milestone–the 15th anniversary of péro. The House of Lakmē Grand Finale will close the season with the return of fashion mogul Rohit Bal, presenting a collection in which modern Indian fashion finds its roots. Abraham & Thakore will close Sustainable Fashion Day.

Through initiatives like the FDCI Stockroom at the event, attendees gain direct access to collections straight off the runway and can engage with designers on the ground, fostering a deeper connection to Indian fashion. FDCI will be presenting a showcase The Denim Edit in collaboration with 11.11 / ELEVEN ELEVEN, Ashish N Soni, Countrymade, Dhruv Kapoor and KGL and will also be collaborating with Pearl Academy for ‘First Cut’.

Reliance Brands, the driving force behind Lakmē Fashion Week x FDCI, is deeply committed to nurturing emerging designers and talent while championing sustainability through initiatives like #NIF Global Presents GenNext and R|Elan™ Presents Circular Design Challenge. R|Elan™ Circular Design Challenge, in partnership with the United Nations in India, has grown from a pioneering initiative to a prominent global platform. Additionally, the season will feature a collaboration between R|Elan™ and Huemn.

New partnerships this season include Marks & Spencer, which will be featured in the show titled “Marks & Spencer Presents Big Autumn Energy,” further enriching the platform’s diverse collaborative spirit and expanding its reach. India’s biggest sustainability award, R|Elan Circular Design Challenge in partnership with the United Nations in India will see its new group of finalists in its second global edition. The finalists for the season include EU: Wenyan Xu & Meng Wang (Saltless); APAC: Tsang Fan Yu; UK: Silvia Acién (ACIEN); India: Gautam Malik (Jaggery), Ritwik Khanna (RKive City) and Chandini Batra (A Blunt Story). Rashmick Bose & Drishti Modi (Lafaani) will be joining as a wildcard entry from India

Other designers to look out for in the Delhi season include – 17:17 by Simmi Saboo, Abhishek Sharma, Ashdeen, Line Outline by Deepit Chugh, Monisha Jaising, Pankaj & Nidhi, Payal Jain, Payal Singhal, Pawan Sachdevaa, Punit Balana, Rahul Singh, Richa Khemka, Rohit Kamra Jaipur, Sameer Madan, Sanjukta Dutta, Shruti Sancheti, TISASTUDIO, Urmil, and Vikram Bajaj.
