Gucci and SUPERPLASTIC, a character-based product and entertainment company that creates limited edition art toys, apparel, games, and digital collectibles have joined hands to announce SUPERGUCCI, an ultra-limited series of Crypto Janky NFTs and handmade ceramic sculptures that go on sale February 1st, 2022

A bespoke three-part series, this first SUPERGUCCI release features a limited offering of ten different exclusive NFTs, each accompanied by a  ceramic sculpture handmade in Italy and co-designed by Gucci and Superplastic. Each extremely limited and valuable NFT draws inspiration from Gucci’s signature patterns, icons, and symbols, reinterpreted through the lens of SUPERPLASTIC synthetic celebrities and artists, Janky and Guggimon.

For the occasion, the two animated celebs took a trip to Gucci Vault, the online concept store, created under the vision of Gucci Creative Director Alessandro Michele, and found themselves in a virtual environment where Gucci’s past, present, and future co-exist. As Gucci’s experimental online space, it is very naturally that Vault hosts this new form of partnership, marking its expansion into the metaverse and paving the way to infinite opportunities.  The sale starts February 1st on SUPERPLASTIC.CO also accessible via Gucci Vault.

The SUPERGUCCI collaboration represents the next, highly anticipated step for both organizations in their path of research, experimentation, and incursions into the metaverse, following Gucci’s visionary virtual experiences and the celebrated Aria NFT auctioned by Christie’s, as well as SUPERPLASTIC’s massively successful Janky Heist NFT drop, also created in collaboration with Christie’s, as well as Superplastic’s January 20th Janky Headtripz NFT drop, created in collaboration with world-famous artists and celebrities.

To accompany this latest chapter, Vault also presents its sixth drop of pre-owned vintage Gucci pieces. Following the path that began in September 2021, these items have been hand-picked by Alessandro Michele and the archivists of the House, and all have been restored and reconditioned, bringing to light several one-of-a-kind pieces. Each vintage article is numbered and comes in its own unique packaging.
