Casio, the parent company of the G-Shock range of shock-resistant watches established in 1983, is celebrating the 40^th anniversary with the opulent G-SHOCK 40th Anniversary Recrystallized limited-edition timepieces crafted from premium hardened steel. These three exquisite timepieces celebrates the legendary DW5000, the very first G-SHOCK watch that revolutionized the world of horology four decades ago in April 1983. The original 1983 G-Shock DW-5000C is still highly sought-after by collectors.

The series is based on the GMW-B5000, a masterpiece that sets the standard for luxury watches. With its exquisite craftsmanship and attention to detail, this timepiece is adorned in recrystallized and hardened stainless steel, developed exclusively for this limited run.

The DW-5040PG-1 is the 40^th anniversary model that showcases a stainless-steel case with a resin bezel and band made from biomass plastics, resembling the iconic DW-5000C-1A. The band loop is

engraved with four stars signifying 40^th anniversary, while the words “PROJECT TEAM ‘Tough’” on the dial pays homage to the team that developed the very first G-SHOCK. The case back is engraved with the Eric Haze -designed 40th logo, and the lower left button is engraved with a star, for a timepiece that crystallizes the G -SHOCK 40th anniversary celebration.

The gold ion plated GMW-B5000PG-9 and the silver GMW-B5000PS-1, both constructed from full metal stainless steel, undergo a deep layer hardening treatment, making them three times harder & sturdier than regular stainless steel.

The dial of these limited-edition timepieces features the iconic phrase “SINCE 1983” in reverence to the rich history and heritage of the G-SHOCK brand. Processed into components and then recrystallized, the stainless-steel features of the watch yield unique differences in crystalline grain that subtly vary in all three variants of the series.
