THE LAND-DWELLER – Rolex begins a new chapter in its history with the Oyster Perpetual Land-Dweller. This

Rolex Dynapulse

contemporary watch is fitted with a bracelet that flows seamlessly from the case, and boasts a brand-new movement that beats at a frequency of 5 Hz and includes a revolutionary escapement, named Dynapulse. No fewer than 32 patent applications and patents pertain to the Land-Dweller, of which 18 are exclusive to this watch

Innovation in movement – The Land-Dweller is equipped with calibre 7135, entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. Although thinner than the majority of Rolex movements, it nonetheless delivers outstanding performance.

Dynapulse, escapement – The most significant innovation in calibre 7135 is the Dynapulse escapement. In this sequential distribution escapement, power is transmitted through a rolling motion. Dynapulse escapement’s components are very lightweight, it is virtually insensitive to magnetic fields, and it offers substantially greater energy efficiency compared to traditional escapements.

State-of-the-art oscillator – The oscillator of calibre 7135 is resistant to strong magnetic fields, is equipped with a balance wheel in optimized brass and a balance staff. This patented balance staff is made of a new high-tech ceramic, exclusive to Rolex, and is sculpted by laser. The optimized Paraflex shock absorbers, located at each end of the balance staff, enhance the shock resistance of the movement in any position.

Frequency of 5 Hz – Incorporating a Syloxi hairspring in silicon, the oscillator beats at a steady 36,000 beats per hour, or a frequency of 5 Hz, measuring time to a tenth of a second. This allows the watch to maintain its chronometric precision whatever the wearer’s actions and arm movements.

Featuring a dial with graphic appeal –the Land-Dweller is offered in two diameters, 36 mm and 40 mm. It is available in a white Rolesor version or in 18 ct Everose gold with an intense white dial, and in 950 platinum with an ice blue dial.

THE GMT-MASTER II

Rolex has introduced its very first ceramic dial on an 18 ct white gold version of the Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II. In the same material, with the same green colour and the same luster, this Cerachrom dial and the daytime half of the green and black bezel insert, echo each other perfectly. The version presented this year is fitted on an Oyster bracelet with an Oysterlock safety clasp. Thanks to the additional hand that displays a second time zone, the GMT-Master II helps attune the changing times.

The Oyster Perpetual is graced with new faces in an array of colours that celebrate the meeting of pastel shades, vibrant lacquering and a smooth, matt finish. The lavender dial is available on the Oyster Perpetual 28 and the beige dial on the Oyster Perpetual 36. The pistachio dial is presented on the Oyster Perpetual 41, introducing a redesigned case and a slimmer Oysterclasp.

Rolex The 1908 metal bracelet

THE 1908 – The Perpetual 1908 in 18 ct yellow gold is now available on a seven-piece link bracelet fashioned entirely in this precious metal. The Settimo bracelet, composed of very small slightly contoured links, is the first metal bracelet dedicated to 1908. Equipped with a concealed Crown-clasp, the design evokes the jewellery-inspired bracelets of some vintage watches.
