IndoBevs has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Abrau-Durso, Russia’s leading alcoholic beverage producer, during the India–Russia Business Forum held alongside the 23rd Annual India–Russia Summit. The company is the only alcobev player to formalise a partnership as part of the Summit’s business engagements.
The MoU sets the groundwork for long-term cooperation in alcoholic beverage production in India. Under the agreement, IndoBevs will manufacture, distribute and promote Abrau-Durso’s portfolio in the Indian market and jointly explore export opportunities across neighbouring regions.
The signing was carried out by Vikas Kumar, Co-founder, IndoBevs, and Anastasia Polyanskaya of PJSC Abrau-Durso, in the presence of senior government and industry delegates.
Speaking on the occasion, Vikas Kumar said, “This MoU represents an important step in IndoBevs’ international expansion and reflects the growing trust and cooperation between Indian and Russian businesses. By combining Abrau-Durso’s global expertise in premium wine production with our manufacturing and distribution strengths in India, we aim to introduce high-quality products tailored for Indian consumers while also building an export-led growth roadmap.”
Anastasia Polyanskaya said “India is a historical and strategic ally for Russia. And for Abrau Durso, it is a market of great trust and opportunities. The memorandum signed today is our conscious and confident step. A step towards expanding our presence and reaching a fundamentally new level. We appreciate this partnership and see tremendous potential for growth. This document is just the beginning of a great collaboration”
The collaboration spans joint production, recipe development, packaging, technical exchange and skill development. Both companies will facilitate expert exchanges to strengthen knowledge transfer and operational excellence. A Joint Working Group will steer project identification, implementation and review. Commercial production and phased product launches will follow required technical and regulatory clearances.
The IndoBevs–Abrau-Durso partnership adds a new consumption-led dimension to the strategic collaborations announced at the 23rd India–Russia Summit, which emphasised deeper ties across trade, manufacturing, technology and industry.
With India emerging as one of the world’s fastest-growing alcobev markets, the alliance is expected to spur product innovation, premiumisation and manufacturing-led growth, while contributing to employment and skill development in the sector.
