delevingneThe French luxury fashion house Balmain, in collaboration with the US mass market sports brand Puma, have teamed up with English actor and super model Cara Delevingne for a unisex boxing-inspired limited edition collection. The launch party to celebrate the Cara Delevingne X Balmain X Puma Collaboration was hosted in Los Angeles on 21 November 22019. The two stars of the collaboration, Balmain’s creative director Olivier Rousteing and Cara Delevingne were dressed in designs from the new Puma x Balmain x Cara Delevingne capsule collection. Olivier Rousteing wore a red tank top with black pants and chunky black lace-up shoes with gold accents, while Delevingne appeared a branded sports bra and jogger-style pants with side zippers, accessorised with a Balmain handbag.

Cara Delevingne’s association with both brands goes back in time, where she has been a Puma ambassador since 2016 and a friend and muse of Balmain’s Creative Director Olivier Rousteing, with whom she has jointly worked on other projects.

Delevingne was quoted in the press to have said, “Puma has always represented teamwork and empowerment so the idea of doing a partnership with Olivier seemed very fitting. Balmain has a similar brave fierceness to their brand as Puma does and it really excited me to think of what we could all do together. I’m really proud of what this collaboration has resulted in.”

Bjoern Gulden, CEO of Puma, reportedly said, “Working with one of our longest standing and iconic partners, pumaCara Delevingne, and marrying her vision with that of Balmain, such an iconic fashion label, was a huge achievement. To be able to mix Puma’s sport heritage with Balmain’s historic couture legacy really took this collection to the next level. We look forward to continuing a partnership with both Cara and Balmain in the future.”

The 35-piece collection of footwear, apparel and accessories comprises bra tops, boxing shorts, sneakers, outdoor apparel and accessories in a stark color palette with hints of gold. The collection will be available in Puma stores and on Puma.com, as well as at select retailers. Balmain will also stock a selection of items from the line at its own boutiques.
