India – FDCI to hold 27th edition of AIFW A/W 2016 in Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium

Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) has announced that the venue for the upcoming Amazon India Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) has announced that the venue Fashion Week Autumn-Winter 2016in association with Maybelline New York will be held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Lodhi Road. The previous AIFW Spring-Summer 2016 event in October was held at the NSIC grounds in Okhla. Prior to that, for many seasons, FDCI held its fashion soirees at Pragati Maidan. This is the first time that the five-day style fest, scheduled from March 16 -20, 2016 will be held in the capital at the sports stadium. Given the extent and scope of the event, the larger venue and better parking space may be an improvement.

Announcing the venue, Mr. Sunil Sethi, President, FDCI said, “We are pleased to welcome all of you to a spectacular new location, which will serve as a befitting platform to elevate the standard of the fabulous AIFW Autumn-Winter 2016 showcasing. It will give Indian fashion the larger-than-life space that it deserves as we get set to predict luscious trends for the season.” The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), is a non-profit organisation. It is the apex body of fashion design in India, represented by over 350 members. Founded on the premise of promoting, nurturing and representing the best of fashion and design talent in the country; its prime objective is to propagate the business of fashion. FDCI stays true to its commitment to promote the ‘Make in India’ label as handlooms take centre stage, in a country, who’s heritage is soaked in the flavours of indigenous crafts.
