Akhil Anand, a Chennai-based teenage artist, is set to present his solo exhibition Morphogenesis, opening on 1st August 2025  at ArtSpace by KalpaDruma in Chennai. The showcase brings together a unique confluence of math, mythology, and nature through intricate patterns and visual storytelling. Deeply inspired by the world around him, Akhil’s work reflects a blend of artistic traditions and scientific curiosity, with an emphasis on how patterns shape our understanding of life and culture.

Akhil explains, “My art exhibition is termed ‘Morphogenesis’ which is Math patterns in nature through Indian Art like Madhubani, Gond, Cheriyal, Pichwai, Kalighat, and Warli. Morphogenesis is a a chemical reaction diffusion discovered by Alan Turing, and named after him is the Turing pattern found on cows, tigers and zebras, etc. A plate of Gulab jamun or a murukku is a golden spiral, the Vetruvian man is in the golden ration of 1/6:1. I have shown all these patterns in my exhibition Morphogenesis.”
