India – 6th Edition of India Design ID 2018 back at NSIC Delhi

india-designThe month of February has been rich with two good events unfolding at the NSIC Grounds, Okhla in New Delhi. Exactly ten days after the India Art Fair, the denizens of Delhi will get to experience India Design ID 2018, India’s definitive Design and Home Decor Week from 22-25 February 2018. Organised by the Ogaan Media Pvt. Ltd, and with Asian Paints as presenting partner, it will showcase over 130 brands from India and across the globe under one roof,  from new launches and exclusive showcases, to signature collections and beautiful artworks.

The platform for India Design ID 2018 will comprise of four verticals – ID Exhibit, ID Symposium, ID Satellite and ID Talks. The ID Symposium is an opportunity for architects, design luminaries and creative influencers from India and across the world to participate in panel discussions, interactive sessions, debates and dialogues centered around design. The panel includes acclaimed international designers and artists like Ross Lovegrove, Japanese architect Takaharu Tezuka; Ilse Crawford, the designer behind New asianpaints-idYork’s famous Soho House and Ron Arad, an Israeli industrial designer, artist, and architect. The contemporary artist and cyborg activist, Neil Harbisson, best known for having an antenna implanted in his skull and for being the world’s first-ever officially recognised cyborg artist by the US government will be speaking on 22nd February; as will Alain Passard, French chef and owner of the three-star restaurant L’Arpège in Paris. Also speaking at the symposium are Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Interior designers Susanne Khan and Simone Arora to art collectors like Roshini Vadehra and Swapan Seth along with numerous other speakers that are known for pushing boundaries in their respective fields.

The showcase in home decoration will be across categories like furniture, accessories, kitchens, furnishing, lighting etc. For furniture and décor, check out showcases by Beyond Design, Iqrup+ Ritz, Ravish Vohra Home, Portside Cafe, Klove, and Sarita Handa. For surfaces, there are Cocoon Fine Rugs, Jaipur Rugs or Obeetee Carpets who will be rolling out their latest lines. Like in  previous years’, ID 2018 will  showcase collaborations at the decoration and design pavilions. Interior Designer and Architect, KohelikaKohli’s wooden pavilion for Artius and graphic designer Divya Thakur’s new spin to the Park Cafe should be interesting.

india-design-2018-cardNew Exhibitors to look out for at this edition include lighting brands like Sans Souci, Roche Bobois, AuxiliariesWhite Domus. Others are MINI (Automobile Living), La Sorogeeka (Furniture), WITHIN (Furniture), East County Co (Furniture), Himatsingka Group (Home textiles), Rasa (Soft Furnishings), QUEO (Bath ware), Epson, Urban Ladder (Furniture & Decor), World of Stones and  Solid Bench (Furniture).

New colour trends for 2018 and the Colour of the Year will be revealed at the Asian Paints Pavilion.ID Satellite takes place every year across design districts in Delhi like Lado Sarai, Meherchand Market, Shahpur Jat, Defence Colony and MG Road. From 18th to 25th February 2018, design stores and restaurants in these five districts have joined forces to make decor more accessible to everyone. You can look forward to special discounts, offers, installations, unique workshops, new launches, movies and plenty of excitement.
