India – Celebrating a Canadian Christmas at Kafe Fontana in Taj Palace Hotel

For the upcoming festive season, Taj Palace, New Delhi along with the Canadian High Commissioncelebrates Canadian Christmas extravaganza at Kafe Fontana. Executive Chef Rajesh Wadhwa along withChef Curtis Pintye, Head Chef at Canada House, the official residence of the High Commissioner of Canada to India showcase their culinary skills as they put up a delectable Christmas spread for their patrons at Kafe Fontana, with a lavish buffet spread, live stations, food stalls and much more from 11th – 20th December in the midst of their Mediterranean setting.

As a prelude to the start of the event, Taj Palace Hotel organized a Master Class with Chef Curtis Pintye and Chef Amit Rana, on a perfect winter morning in Delhi, on the sunny lush lawns overlooking the Kafe Fontana. We got a taste of the famous Canadian Christmas Turkey preparation by Chef Curtis. Chef Amit made the very popular dish Fennel and Palak ki chaat with pan seared Prawns.

The all-day dining restaurant Kafe Fontana offers brunch and an a la carte section featuring Mediterranean and European recipes. The buffet tables are loaded with roast turkey, tourtierre, cranberry sauce and gravy, sweet potato casserole, nanaimo bars, mincemeat tarts and much more topped up with live entertainment.

About Chef Curtis Pintye

Born in Calgary, in the Canadian province of Alberta, Chef Curtis spent many of his formative years living abroad in Saudi Arabia and the U.A.E. Upon returning to Canada for his post-secondary education, Chef Curtis dabbled in the study of history before deciding to pursue his passion for cooking. He attended the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and has worked in some of Calgary’s top French restaurants. He is currently Head Chef at Canada House, the official residence of the High Commissioner of Canada to India, in New Delhi.
