ARTIST NIKAS SAFRONOV
Renowned Russian artist Nikas Safronov brings his first-ever exhibitions to India this December, marking a significant moment in Russia–India cultural diplomacy. The shows will open at Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi (December 7–21, 2025), followed by Mumbai (December 25, 2025–January 15, 2026), supported by Rosneft.
Safronov—one of Russia’s most celebrated contemporary artists and holder of the title People’s Artist of Russia—has held over 320 exhibitions worldwide, drawing millions. Known for his signature surrealist-symbolic language, Dream Vision, he blends portraiture, symbolism, and fantasy with themes of cultural identity and spirituality.
His India exhibitions highlight works inspired by Indian landscapes, history, and mythology—from the Taj Mahal and Varanasi to reimagined Hindu mythological scenes and cultural motifs. “India’s heritage, music, cinema, and architecture have long inspired me,” Safronov says. “I hope this exhibition becomes a bridge of understanding between our countries.”

Beyond his classical paintings, Safronov will also showcase new multimedia works, integrating LED technology and AI-driven visual effects to create immersive, interactive experiences.
Both exhibitions are free to the public, reflecting the artist’s belief that art should transcend social and economic boundaries.
