Lakmē Fashion Week, in partnership with the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), has announced the 41st edition of NIF Global Presents GenNext, reinforcing its position as a leading platform for emerging fashion talent in India. The initiative continues to identify and support designers distinguished by originality, experimentation and a contemporary design voice. For this edition, Jubinav Chadha, Taarini Anand and Saim Ghani have been selected as the GenNext designers. They will debut their collections on the Lakmē Fashion Week X FDCI runway, gaining national visibility and direct industry exposure.

Over four decades, GenNext has evolved into a cornerstone of the Lakmē Fashion Week X FDCI platform, supported by Lakmē, FDCI, Reliance and NIF Global. Across 40 completed editions, the program has launched over 250 designers into the fashion mainstream. Alumni such as Rahul Mishra, Aneeth Arora (Pero), Akshat Bansal (Bloni), Ruchika Sachdeva (Bodice) and Masaba Gupta underline its long-term impact on the Indian fashion industry.

The current selection followed presentations before a jury comprising Manish Malhotra (Fashion Designer), Rochelle Pinto (Head of Editorial Content, Vogue India), Edward Lalrempuia (Fashion Stylist), Raisa Chakravarty (Head of Innovations, Lakmē), Jaspreet Chandok (Group Vice President, Reliance Brands) and Sabina Chopra (NIF Global GenNext Mentor).
Commenting on the programme, Sunanda Khaitan, CMO, Beauty & Wellbeing, Hindustan Unilever, said GenNext remains integral to Lakmē Fashion Week X FDCI, consistently introducing designers who reflect innovation and a future-focused approach, while reaffirming Lakmē’s commitment to nurturing emerging talent.
Shaunik Khosla, Business Head, NIF Global, noted that GenNext extends beyond a showcase to empower young creators with vision, originality and confidence, positioning them as future industry leaders. Jaspreet Chandok, Group Vice President, Reliance Brands, added that the programme supports designers at a critical stage, celebrating individuality and creativity that will shape the future of Indian fashion.

Inspired by Uttarakhand’s Valley of Flowers, the collection translates landscapes into quilting and patchwork, with latitudes and longitudes woven into textiles. Custom postcard prints, floral embroidery and earthy tones shape modern yet structured silhouettes that evoke nostalgia and escapism.

Drawing from the murals of the Ajanta Caves, the collection references tilted postures, mineral blues, reds and pinks, and jewelled adornments. Pigment memory is expressed through melange hand knitting and silhouettes defined by drape, weight and stillness.
