Here’s some good news for all fashionable skaters wanting to make a statement with their personalized skateboard. Hermès has launched a luxury skateboard for a cool $3,000. What makes it special? Firstly, they are created by non-other than Henri d’Origny, the artistic director of Hermès. Secondly, these skate decks are reportedly made of light beech wood with a noble maple veneer. Starting at $2,900, the models are adorned with old Hermès designs such as “Bouclerie Modern” and “Sangles en zigzag”.
These skateboards and long boards will be available at most Herme’s boutiques around the world, as well as online retail by end of September.
The skaters have caught the fancy of luxury brands. Besides Herme’s, there is Emilio Pucci who has brought out a signature line. Dior has its models zipping around on skate boards in its ad film campaign. Not to forget the Louis Vuitton x Supreme collaboration.
