India – World University of Design gives Critics Choice Award to Artist Sangeeta Gupta

The World University of Design (WUD) conferred the Critic’s Choice Award on artist Sangeeta Gupta. The formal award was handed over to the artist by Dr Sanjay Gupta, Vice Chancellor WUD, on 19 December, 2020 at the Prithvi Fine Art & Culture Centre in New Delhi. In view of the pandemic and adhering  to the required norms of social distancing, the ceremony was kept brief and private.

Artist Sangeeta Gupta is a well known entity in the field of art and has held many shows in India and abroad, attended prestigeous workshops and won many awards. A multi talented and creative artist, she is a well-known poet, writer, photographer, film maker. She has many books published of her poems, short stories, photography.

The other eminent members present at the award ceremony were Professor S M Kulkarni, Dean of World Art Design Department of WUD, Deepti Gupta, Professor Textile Technology, IIT Delhi, Professor Anupam,  Department of Painting, WUD, Professor Eqbal Ahmad, Department of  Mass Communication, Sharda University, Qazi M Raghib, Art Director and Art Critic.

The Critics’ Choice Award has been instituted by WUD in 2019 in the field of visual arts to encourage and empower the diverse range of artists in the country, by honouring talent showcasing the rich culture of art across India, across different languages, regions, cultures styles and themes.
