India – Brazilian footwear brand Melissa debuts in India

On that note, the launch of a new footwear brand Melissa from Brazil, is just good news for the shopper. Melissa opened their first ever flagship store at DLF Promenade Mall, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. The film star Vaani Kapoor was invited to inaugurate the store, and she looked happy enough in Melissa footwear.

Melissa is present in over 96 countries including key fashion cities such as New York, London, and Hong Kong has finally opened its doors in India. The new 1454 square foot retail space is the Brazilian eco-friendly label’s first exclusive business outlet in India. The launch of Melissa store in India is part of the brand’s long- term strategy towards establishing & enhancing its brand presence in the global market. Melissa has design collaborations with Vivienne Westwood,
one of the champions of fashion sustainability,since 2008. Melissa also collaborates with Karl Lagerfeld, Jean Paul Gaultier, The Campana Brothers, Disney, Jason Wu and Jeremy Scott amongst various others on collections ranging from strappy sandals and ballet flats to wedges and ankle boots. The result is alchemy of art, design, and pop culture that expresses the individual characteristics of each designer.

melissa-happyRuchi Sally shared that Melissa would soon launch additional stores in New Delhi and Mumbai later this year, keeping in mind that store locations are an important aspect for Melissa and the brand would be very selective in choosing the right locations for opening new stores.

The store will stock styles from Melissa’s core women’s collection, a range for baby girls as well as its collaborations with designers. The shoes range between INR 4000 – INR 30,000.
