India – Tamra’s ode to Dabbawalas of Mumbai with DESI DABBA International Flavors

tamaraDo not be too surprised if you spot a lunch delivery boy dressed in white topi and kurta payjama, with a bicycle laden with neon-coloured tiered lunch boxes, navigating between the tables at Tamra, Shangri-La’s – Eros Hotel, New Delhi. This is part of a fun offering inspired by the renowned Dabbawalas of Mumbai that will be on until 31st May, 2017. Paying tribute to these Dabbawalas, Executive Chef Neeraj Tyagi and his team have curated a tiffin lunch by creating meal combinations from cuisines across the world with a local flavour.

On the menu are Thailand ka dabba (Chicken Krapow, Vegetable Green Curry, Jasmine Rice); Desi Chineez (Chilly Chicken, Vegetable Manchurian, Fried Rice) the Chinese favourites with a fiery Indian twist; Phorner Dabba (Baked Macaroni, Grilled Chicken, Ratatouille, Garlic Bread) from Italy; Desi Dabba (BhunaBoti Masala, Lehsuni Dal, Mint and TamaterkaPulao) gharkakhana, excellently prepared. Sabzi, dal and pulao for a wholesome desi meal! ; Mera Gaon Mera Desh (Puran Singh kaKukkad, KadiPakoda, SadhaChawal) staple favourites from the heart of India; Shudh Shakahari (Tawa Champ, Kairiki Dal, Pulao) and South ka Dabba (Andhra Fish Curry, Koi Vepudu, Pori) savour the best of Indian Southern cuisine in our South KaDabba!Each Dabba can be paired with a beverage of your choice, guests may choose from popular classics such as Thanda Banta, Shikanji or Masala Cola.

Price: Rs. 1,100 plus taxes per person + one beverage of your choice

Timing: 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm from Monday to Saturday
